Proverbs 31:10 "A Virtuous Woman"

"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."

I am lucky to have so many virtuous women in my life...family, friends, women in my church. I truly consider each one of these special women "rubies" and I am grateful for the impact they have on my life. As I reflect on this Proverb, my sister in laws immediately come to mind. Marco, Jackie and Maia; your price is far above rubies. Thank you for the inspiration you are to me. You help me to be a better person and you are more to me than sisters. You are my friends.

I have enjoyed a recent visit with Marco and her family. Marco, you are an amazing mother. Your love for your children and your deep desire to do God's will is aparent in all that you do. Thank you for your example. I have just started a drawing of my beautiful nieces that I will post shortly. I wish I could have finished it while you were still here!

Jackie, you are without a doubt the funnest person I have ever met! There is never a dull moment with you! That being said, you know what is truly important, and never let anything over shadow that. Your love for your family, friends and God matter most to you. Thank you for your example. I am posting a charcoal drawing of my beautiful niece Lauren, and have started work on my amazing niece Kamryn...it will be finished before her birthday, I promise!

Maia, you amaze me in all that you do! You are the very essence of a virtuous woman. Your love for God radiates from deep within you, and you shine as a light for all around you. Thank you for your example.

Such women do not come about without a virtuous mother. Carolyn, thank you for the exceptional mother that you are. I am forever grateful that God has blessed me with such an amazing mother in law. Truly, you are a virtuous woman, and I thank you for your example.

I really enjoyed working on this piece! The intricacies of the flower were facinating to me, and color just seemed to explode from the page. I absolutely love color! I am going to take a chance with this piece, and have some art cards printed...we'll see how it goes!

"Remember"

Charcoal on paper: 22 x 28 inch

Matthew 6:28

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;" I love this scripture as it reminds me to simplify and remember my God and creator. It is easy to get caught up in things of the world...a bigger house, better car, designer clothes. (I'm not trying to preach. I find myself wanting these things more often than I would like to admit!) So much time is wasted on pursuit of these objects! Reflecting on that scripture causes me to think of what is really important: My God, my family and friends. Matthew goes on to quote the Savior in verse 30, "Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?" Sometimes, I feel that I am the individual of "little faith" that the Lord speaks of. However; each day I resolve to be a little better and try a little harder to have greater faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As an artist, this scripture is especially meaningful to me, and I find great joy in taking time to "consider the lilies." What a beautiful world we have! How grateful I am for all of God's creations. At the moment, I find myself working on a series of floral paintings and drawings. The pieces I am doing are close up views of various flowers. My reason for doing so is because it is my hope that we will take time to notice the beauty and detail in God's creations...even that of a tiny flower.
